JD Revels –Guitar & Piano

JD Revels Joined our School of Music team early 2011.

JD has been playing an instrument since age 4, starting with piano. JD started playing the guitar at age 5.

He started playing in church at the age of 9 and for nursing homes and other public events at age 12.

JD attended Limestone College in Gaffney SC graduating in 2009 with a BA degree in liberal studies with concentration in music performance. The music education he received at Limestone College included extensive training in theory and aural skills, music history, composition, techniques courses in piano and numerous choral and band directing classes.

JD has been giving private lessons for approximately 10 years.

JD is well versed in multiply styles of music including bluegrass, classical, country, folk, jazz, metal, rock, sacred and contemporary. JD uses several medias in his teachings including reading music, tabs, Nashville number system and playing by ear.
